When Halloween falls on a Friday, I kind of have to play this.

Second pre-release banger from the next Ratboys album, which has officially been given a February release date.

“Paint Me A Picture” – Magdalena Bay
MB just released two pretty good singles, I slightly prefer this sultry one.

“Doldrum Days” – Miki Berenyi Trio
Berenyi still makes music that has strong ties to her days in Lush, this one a perfect match of title and tone.

“I Don’t Have The Heart” – Sharp Pins
We heard from these cats earlier this year. Another fine piece of retro rock that sounds a little like very early Beatles music.

“Crashing Heights” – Sunflower Bean
As has happened a few times over the past month or so, this is a new track added to a deluxe version of an album that came out earlier in the year. Not sure why this wasn’t on the original version of Mortal Primetime.

“Just Be Friends” – SASAMI & Soccer Mommy
After appearing on last year’s Favorite Songs list, SASAMI returns with this gorgeous, country-tinged track. She said she listened to a lot of country while recording her latest album, and was impressed by how horny the genre is. Who knew?

“Dracula” – Tame Impala
Obligatory.

“Tom Sawyer” Reimagined As A Funk Song
Oh man, this is a ton of fun! My only complaint is it looses the big drums that are the hallmark of the original.
