Debbie Harry in her white-hot prime. The freaking drummer is insane, doing his best Keith Moon impression in his gold lam\u00e9 suit.<\/p>\n<p>A<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0258463\/\">The Bourne Identity<\/a><\/em><br \/>\n<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0372183\/\">The Bourne Supremacy<\/a><\/em><br \/>\n<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0440963\/\">The Bourne Ultimatum<\/a><\/em><br \/>\nI hadn\u2019t watched any of these since the third installment came out in 2007, when I watched all three in three days. I repeated that over three nights last month. They still hold up really well. It was good to be reminded how much they influenced the Daniel Craig-era Bond movies.<\/p>\n<p>Also, Matt Damon runs weird.<\/p>\n<p>A-, A-, A-<br \/>\nDamon\u2019s running: C-<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hbo.com\/eastbound-and-down\">Eastbound &amp; Down<\/a><\/em>, season one<br \/>\nI\u2019ve never watched this, but have seen the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_hPp4dgmrc8\">Will Ferrell blooper collection<\/a> plenty of times. One of my brothers-in-law and I like to repeat \u201cLet the boy watch!\u201d anytime we are together. This was about what I expected: dumb yet hilarious.<\/p>\n<p>B+<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ysgH_rkfGSE\">The Commute: A four day paddle to work<\/a><br \/>\nBeau Miles up to his usual bullshit. I wish I had his adventurous spirit.<\/p>\n<p>A<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0302886\/\">Old School<\/a><\/em><br \/>\nI caught the last half to two-thirds of this on Comedy Central one night. It\u2019s been a long, long time since I\u2019ve watched it. It holds up, although I wish I had been watching the un-edited version.<\/p>\n<p>A-<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/70140358\">Arrested Development<\/a><\/em>, season one.<br \/>\nBefore our trip I was looking for something to watch and decided to blaze through season one of this classic. I\u2019m repeating myself, but this hold up, too. Quite well, in fact. Funny seeing Will Arnett back before he started working out and got biceps.<\/p>\n<p>A<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt8236336\/\">The Report<\/a><\/em><br \/>\n<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/81161626\">Red Notice<\/a><\/em><br \/>\n<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/81043755\">The Trial of the Chicago 7<\/a><\/em><br \/>\nThese are the three movies I watched on our flights to\/from Hawaii.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Report<\/em> fits right in with movies like <em>State of Play<\/em> that are focused on what should be boring investigations yet translate quite well into cinematic drama.<\/p>\n<p><em>Red Notice<\/em> was kind of dumb, but mindless entertainment and perfect for a plane. And I\u2019ll watch anything with Gal Gadot.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Trial of the Chicago 7<\/em><br \/>\nThis was surprisingly funny. Not in an <em>Old School<\/em> way, but more in an \u201cI expected this to be awfully heavy and I\u2019m laughing way more than I thought\u201d kind of way. Aaron Sorkin FTW, obviously.<\/p>\n<p>I haven\u2019t read, yet, about how historically accurate it was. But I enjoyed the hell out of it. Tuck this away for when we go through a stretch where it doesn\u2019t get above freezing for a week or two to remind yourself how good you have it.<\/p>\n<p>B+<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/OXNCCdcBhcY\">A whale saved my life<\/a><br \/>\nWhat an amazing story!<\/p>\n<p>A+<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Podcasts<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/songexploder.net\/the-war-on-drugs\">Song Exploder: The War on Drugs<\/a><br \/>\nAdam Granduciel talking about the making of the single \u201cI Don\u2019t Live Here Anymore.\u201d This is great, complete with segments of the various stages of demos the song went through. I especially love the tidbit about him leaving in a vocal flub because he could never come up with a lyric that fit that moment.<\/p>\n<p>A<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/switchedonpop.com\/episodes\/james-bond-spycraft-sound-billie-eilish-hans-zimmer-daniel-craig\">James Bond\u2019s Spycraft Sound \u2014 Switched On Pop<\/a><br \/>\nAnother piece that dives into the science behind music.
