She enjoyed it. I don\u2019t think my second viewing changed my opinion of it. It was funnier, deeper, and more emotional than season one. But it also lacked the magic of that first year. Season one wins in a nose because it didn\u2019t have the two extra episodes that messed with the momentum of the rest of the season.<\/p>\n<p>A-<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tv.apple.com\/us\/show\/ted-lasso\/umc.cmc.vtoh0mn0xn7t3c643xqonfzy\">Ted Lasso<\/a>, season three<br \/>\nI shared lengthy thoughts <a href=\"https:\/\/dsnotebook.me\/index.php\/2023\/06\/01\/ted-lasso-one-for-the-road\/\">here<\/a>. An uneven season that ended on a high note.<\/p>\n<p>B+<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tv.apple.com\/us\/show\/slow-horses\/umc.cmc.2szz3fdt71tl1ulnbp8utgq5o\">Slow Horses<\/a><br \/>\nI\u2019m not sure why I go back and watch shows when I\u2019ve already read the book. This got good reviews but I felt it didn\u2019t come close to matching the book it was pulled from.<\/p>\n<p>B<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt16419074\/\">Air<\/a><br \/>\nBasically written for people like me. Seriously, what could go wrong when you base a movie in the summer of 1984, include tons of pop culture references and music clips, focus it on the brand I was most obsessed with as a kid and the greatest basketball player ever? Well, plenty, but fortunately this was well written and acted so other than a few quibbles, it was a very enjoyable hour and 54 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>A-<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/GeTMPJ2B5VE\">The Yin &amp; Yang of Gerry Lopez<\/a><br \/>\nMy long-form surf video of the month. I didn\u2019t know a thing about Lopez, and it was cool to learn his story. But even if you hate surfing this is an awesome movie to watch. Amazing production and music elevates the already incredible archival video of Lopez\u2019s surfing prime in the 60s and 70s.<\/p>\n<p>A-<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt14269590\/\">Poker Face<\/a><br \/>\nI read so many raves about this show when it came out earlier this year. A throwback to detective shows of the \u201870s with a very modern twist, or at least that was what I gathered from those raves. That description was accurate. But it seemed like a lot of the episodes were about 10 minutes too long. Tighten things up and I would have liked it more.<\/p>\n<p>B<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0089886\/\">Real Genius<\/a><br \/>\nOne night after an NBA game I saw this was on and caught the last 45 minutes or so (From the beauty school tanning invitational scene on). An all-timer, a Pantheon flick, one of my most quoted movies ever. LOL.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/QTK_bC00ilg\">The Invisible Barrier Keeping Two Worlds Apart<\/a><br \/>\nOne of those True Facts that both makes perfect sense and seems completely crazy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/5O4BzTKFv84\">Commando: On the Front Line: The 55 Year Old Commando<\/a><br \/>\nLast year I watched the series about the British Royal Marines Commando recruits going through their training. I took until now to get to the companion piece, covering how the cameraman for the series also went through the training. Hilaree Nelson and Jim Morrison<\/a><br \/>\nClimb one of the tallest mountains in the world and then become the first people to ski its descent? Sure, why not? This definitely falls into the hot category.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/TJO1sThO5kk\">The Balkans Mirage: A Journey on Wheels<\/a><br \/>\nHonestly one of the greatest things I\u2019ve ever seen on YouTube.
