Then the house started shaking.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently we had a nice 5.4 earthquake this morning. I don&#8217;t remember anything from my days in southeast Missouri, right on top of the New Madrid fault (early reports say our shaker this morning was on the New Madrid fault), but I never felt one this big in my one year in California.
