Not sure she totally got it. Then again, I don\u2019t know if I did, either, the first time I saw it. A delight for me, though. It also made me look up and re-read this piece. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theringer.com\/movies\/2018\/7\/10\/17540704\/step-brothers-oral-history-will-ferrell-john-c-reilly-adam-mckay\">Unadulterated Joy: An Oral History of \u2018Step Brothers\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A-<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0357413\/\">Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy<\/a><br \/>\nPerhaps the height of Will Ferrell silliness.<\/p>\n<p>A-<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1478338\/\">Bridesmaids<\/a><br \/>\nThis has been in rotation on cable lately, and I\u2019ve caught parts of it three different times. It probably makes me laugh harder than the two movies above. The fact that our girls are old enough to wander by and watch for a bit makes it a little uncomfortable for me, though.<\/p>\n<p>A<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/nAdcYv2I3hc\">Strapped (Spring Training)<\/a><br \/>\nFor the latest edition of No Laying Up\u2019s budget travel series, the boys went to Arizona during baseball spring training season. All kinds of baseball goodies mixed in with the golf. This season doesn\u2019t quite hit as well as others, but it is never a bad way to spend 90 minutes or so.<\/p>\n<p>B+<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/b46zX4js0-c\">Pearl Jam &#8211; 1991\u201308\u201323 Seattle, WA<\/a><br \/>\nThis is pretty awesome. A PJ concert from less than a week <strong>before<\/strong> they released their first album. Every song sounds awesome. They were locked in from day one. I wonder what happened to that dude in front of the cameraman with the weird tick where he kept shaking his head. Hope he\u2019s doing alright.<\/p>\n<p>A<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Destination-NBA-G-League-Odyssey\/dp\/B0C6X798X5\">Destination NBA: A G League Odyssey<\/a><br \/>\nThis was really interesting. Especially the older guys who have been hanging around awhile. I don\u2019t remember Gabe York from college at all, but that dude is a stud. I had checked out on the Pacers by the time he got his late-season call up last spring. Always fascinating to see athletes like him, who absolutely destroy at the level just below the highest level, but for one reason or another, can never make it in the bigs.<\/p>\n<p>A<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tv.apple.com\/us\/show\/shrinking\/umc.cmc.apzybj6eqf6pzccd97kev7bs?mttn3pid=Google%20AdWords&amp;mttnagencyid=a5e&amp;mttncc=US&amp;mttnsiteid=143238&amp;mttnsubad=OUS2019984_1-651910795678-c&amp;mttnsubkw=146067015515__sbCBIy8V_&amp;mttnsubplmnt=_adext_\">Shrinking<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bill_Lawrence_%28TV_producer%29\">Bill Lawrence<\/a> made some adjustments to his Thoughtful Comedy slider, brought in some terrific actors and collaborators (Jessica Williams is a revelation), and cranked out yet another fantastic show. Funnier than Ted Lasso and often as touching. I laughed as much watching this as any show in recent memory. Pretty much every one of the main actors is outstanding. You know Brett Goldstein is involved thanks to the liberal use of the word fuck. An excellent way to spend five hours of your life.<\/p>\n<p>A<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/81619082\">John Mulaney: Baby J<\/a><br \/>\nI didn\u2019t find this as hilarious as his previous stand up shows. Not sure if that was because most of it is about his stint in rehab, and the intervention that led to that. Some of the humor seemed a little forced and uncomfortable.<\/p>\n<p>B<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt2906216\/\">Dungeons &amp; Dragons: Honor Among Thieves<\/a><br \/>\nNot your average D&amp;D adaptation. This hits most of the touch points of the genre, but remains loose and silly. Not quite a send-up of fantasy movies, although it can border on that at times. Seems like a movie that can delight both fantasy fans and those who normally wouldn\u2019t be drawn to the genre.<\/p>\n<p>B+<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt14452776\/\">The Bear<\/a>, seasons one and two<br \/>\nS had not watched this at all, so I gladly binged both seasons again with her. Loved them both again. As with any re-watch, it was fun to pick up on little nuggets I missed the first time, or assess episodes slightly differently knowing what comes next. \u201cForks\u201d is still my favorite, but I did like \u201cFishes\u201d a little more than I did the first time.
