I guess tennis took up time at the beginning of the month, then I never really got into a groove? I was also listening to football on Fridays and watching a lot on Saturdays and Sundays, with the occasional Thursday and Monday game thrown in. Still kind of weird I watched zero movies.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Movies, Shows, etc<\/h3>\n<p>US Open<br \/>\nWatched more of the women than the men, but still tuned in most nights over the tournament\u2019s run.<\/p>\n<p>A<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tv.apple.com\/us\/show\/hijack\/umc.cmc.1dg08zn0g3zx52hs8npoj5qe3\">Hijack<\/a><br \/>\nKind of like <em>24<\/em> but on a seven-hour plane ride. Lots of action and tension, there were plot holes big enough to fly an A350 through, but it mostly hits the right notes. Having Idris Elba spend a decent part of the show in an airline seat straining to look down the aisle was a perfect setting for his \u201cIdris Elba Lean\u201d look.<\/p>\n<p>B+<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fxnetworks.com\/shows\/reservation-dogs\">Reservation Dogs<\/a>, season two<br \/>\nI\u2019m so happy a show like this exists. Some general wackiness, some truly heartbreaking moments, and a glimpse at a part of our country that most of us don\u2019t know enough about, even if this is a fictionalized version.<\/p>\n<p>B+<\/p>\n<p>Seinfeld, Parks &amp; Recreation<br \/>\nI watched a lot of these reruns during late afternoons and weekends. I wish P&amp;R was in higher rotation on Comedy Central and not left to Saturdays and Sundays. I would love to rewatch more of it. Plus S likes it more than The Office.<\/p>\n<p>A, A<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Shorts, YouTubes, etc<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/FVZmFISzqwY?si=cxD5if8PkvOVKzf1\">Turning The Titan Missile Key<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/rLMCjuge6oE?si=zDgWP98YjHsj6Cuj\">\u201cTurn your key, Sir.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/du9_Kn2y2VA?si=T_RZlKrUetroIgcg\">&#8220;ll Capo\u201d (The Chief): a striking look at marble quarrying in the Italian Alps<\/a><br \/>\nAs Fab Five Freddy would say, this is kinda incredible.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/4X4Fy8YqysY?si=H4kyUzZXznGzmvFE\">World\u2019s fastest talking man sings Michael Jackson\u2019s BAD in 20 seconds<\/a><br \/>\nI remember this guy. This bit seems like a uniquely 80s thing, doesn\u2019t it? I love that there was <a href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/speed\/2016\/12\/is-the-micro-machines-guy-still-the-fastest-talking-man-on-the-planet.html\">a controversy around who really was the fastest talker in the world<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/peopSSf8tBM?si=U7BA-61VHyqIIJgW\">Trying Out for the US Open Ball Crew | Ball People<\/a><br \/>\nKramer did it better.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/oyy-KAMrO3I?si=2U_GzvONa-GqEU6z\">Huge Lego Salmon fish Cutting<\/a><br \/>\nI think we still have some Lego boxes stashed away. There\u2019s no reason I couldn\u2019t do something like this and launch a lucrative YouTube career, right?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/kFFSFxjg-TY?si=CzF9SFqgXntHUxhC\">Rafting the most polluted river in Australia<\/a><br \/>\nBeau Miles\u2019 videos have been getting more serious lately. I need to stop calling them bullshit, even jokingly, as they are quite the opposite of BS.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/PwgT-bm-dP4?si=L79CsC87tTnAkpE4\">I picked up 10,000 bottles and cans because of Seinfeld<\/a><br \/>\n\u201cWe were indeed idiots.\u201d OK, sometimes they still lean to the bullshit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/fw7rqScPBHA?si=OyN4jr17NA-G1u9L\">72 Hours Road Tripping through Oregon<\/a><br \/>\nIt\u2019s been too long since I\u2019ve been to Oregon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/sa3Tl3t88Mc?si=ygVQSo9S13zCukFs\">My family teaches you how to speak Baltimorese<\/a><br \/>\nFun with regional accents!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/CsYEEQpIjBg?si=nCS6M_BJCwbKxBwX\">NLU Film Room: Machrihanish<\/a><br \/>\nIf someone paid my way to Scotland or Ireland, I would find a way to fight through my arthritic hands and play a few holes.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Music\/Podcasts<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theringer.com\/the-bill-simmons-podcast\">Bill Simmons Podcast<\/a><br \/>\nAfter years of not listening, I\u2019ve gotten back into Simmons\u2019 pods. I feel bad that I missed so many Parent Corners, as I feel like I could have related to a lot of what he and Cousin Sal talk about since they have kids about the same ages as mine. A good way to get an audio overview of the NFL, too. Since he leans hard to the NBA and I\u2019ve been leaning more that way over the past year, I\u2019m looking forward to continuing to listen to him as the NBA season begins.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A pretty slow month for some reason.
