Fortunately, S.\u00a0didn\u2019t hear her at all and asked her to repeat herself. \u201cThat\u2019s the cutest stomach I\u2019ve ever seen, you should be pregnant all the time. I\u2019ve had four and I never looked that good. This must be your first?\u201d Thus began another unsolicited conversation between a random woman and my wife. I\u2019ll take it in exchange for the lack of strangers coming up and touching her stomach. This is the third such encounter at the entrance of a restaurant, so there\u2019s something odd about eateries and the desire to talk to pregnant women I guess. S.\u00a0thanked the hostess, and I told her I say she looks good all the time but she doesn\u2019t listen to me.<br \/>\n\u201cThat\u2019s because all men lie.\u201d<br \/>\nWhoa! Here\u2019s an odd turn in the conversation.<br \/>\n\u201cMy husband told me the same thing and all he does is lie to me.\u201d<br \/>\nWarning, tread carefully.<br \/>\n\u201cWell, we\u2019ve only been married a year, so don\u2019t ruin it for me.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019ve been married seven and my husband\u2019s a liar.\u201d<br \/>\nGreat, could you like seat us, pronto so we don\u2019t have to listen to you, crazy woman?<br \/>\nWe were seated before any additional uncomfortable exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve had a couple people ask me about the whole phone tree thing. All the planning I had done so far involved assuming I would phone a post into the blog as soon as I\u2019m able after the Little Girlfriend arrives. If possible, I\u2019ll audioblog the fact we\u2019re at the hospital to begin with, but since these things can happen suddenly, I can\u2019t guarantee anything. So keep your eyes on this space for first notification.
