This is the first time I\u2019ve really enjoyed one of Finn\u2019s solo songs. It may make me reconsider his entire solo catalog. But I\u2019ll likely just got back and listen to classic Hold Steady tracks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeart Attack Kid\u201d &#8211; Ben Kweller. Kweller disappeared for awhile. This is a pretty solid return.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDevil May Care\u201d &#8211; Son Volt. Jay Farrar is always gonna Jay Farrar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cF the NRA\u201d &#8211; The Coathangers. No explanation needed.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Prince and the Revolution - Kiss (Official Music Video)\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H9tEvfIsDyo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cKiss\u201d &#8211; Prince. I didn\u2019t have a video lined up so I just randomly scrolled through my Spotify catalog until something caught my eye. I remember how mind blowing this song and video were. <em>Around the World In A Day<\/em> was nothing like <em>Purple Rain<\/em>, and this track showed that <em>Parade<\/em> was going to be nothing like either of them. For all the accolades we heap on Prince\u2019s career, I think the most amazing thing about his peak &#8211; 1983-1987 &#8211; was that every album in that stretch went in a completely different direction. Another thing I noticed while looking at the track listing for <em>Parade<\/em> was that Prince was never afraid to load up side two. I feel like <em>Parade<\/em> is kind of a forgotten album.
