June Media
A rather spare month. One of these entries was for just one episode. That will happen when you travel a couple weekends and spend more evenings outside on the back porch than inside on the couch.

Your Friends & Neighbors, season two
The finale was a doozy, setting up all kinds of nonsense for season three. I would not call this show prestige TV, but it is immensely entertaining. It follows the lead of the classic, Eighties prime time soaps like Dynasty and Dallas by often being completely ridiculous. So many moments make you think everyone in the show is terrible and lives in a world that is far removed from where us normal folks reside. However, it is much better acted and written than those shows, and has so much humor that it generally balances out its soapiness.

Widow’s Bay
I did not plan on watching this at first, as I heard it leaned towards horror. However, I also heard it was more spooky than scary, and that it was showrun by a veteran of Parks and Recreation, so gave it a shot. An odd show because it indeed mixes humor and mystery and some strange, supernatural force that is never fully revealed. I enjoyed most of it, but thought it fell down a little in the finale. I will admit I watched half of the finale on the plane back from Colorado and then finished it that evening, which could have affected how it impacted me. You can never go wrong with Matthew Rhys and Stephen Root. One TV critic I follow loved this, but I couldn’t quite get there.

Marty, Life Is Short
I watched this on the way to Denver. A wonderful piece about a wonderful man. A lot of us could use adopting his outlook on life and resilience in the face of family tragedy.

World Cup
It’s generally been on but I haven’t been all-in every day. Still constant summer sports on TV is always a good thing.

A wonderful new DIRT episode about the most wonderful place on earth.
The Property Was Completely Out of Control
Beau Miles’ newest project looks even more daunting now that he’s actually dived into it.
